1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion (chopped)
2 Tbsps. salad oil
4 cans tomatoes
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 clove garlic (minced)
2 cups tomato paste
1 lb. lasagne noodles (cooked & drained)
2 lb. mozzarella cheese (thin sliced)
1 cup parmesan cheese
2 lb. cottage cheese
]]>Brown ground beef and onion in salad oil until lightly browned; add the tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, pepper, onions, garlic and beef into a large sauce pan.
Slowly bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat and allow to simmer 2 to 4 hours.
Cook the noodles in a large amount of boiling water. Allow noodles to become slightly tender, drain and rinse.
In a 13 X 9 glass baking dish, begin with a thin layer of sauce, then a layer of noodles, next add enough sauce to cover noodles, next add a layer of cottage cheese topped with a layer of mozzarella cheese and a small amount of the parmesan.
Continue layering until all ingredients are used.
Bake at 350 for 40 to 45 mins. Let cool 20 to 25 mins. before serving.
