My living room/dining room is open concepts and I want to pick a nice colour to make it feel warm and welcoming..any suggestions. Right now it is all painters beige with vaulted ceilings.
Hi Kim,
I assume that your wall's are sheetrock. I would suggest that you visit your local paint store and pick up some free colour samples and remember that when viewing the samples to imagine them being much bolder when they cover an entire wall or room. Please see Room Color Schemes
There are many factors that contribute to the overall mood any room projects. Colour being a vital ingredient, never under-estimate the simpliest colour (white)---which presents the mood of purity and brightness, complimenting any decor and colour scheme of your flooring and furnishing.
You will need to choose a colour that compliments your furnishings...flooring, furniture and window treatments...for example...you would not choose a green wall colour if you have a red sofa. Take a mental image of your furnishing noting the colours of floor coverning and furniture and match colours that compliment the elements of your furnishing.
I would like to refer you to a color schemer that I find very helpful for matching color combinations. Tip Choose the color from the color palette that closely matches your furnishing, the color schemer will show you a number of matching and complimenting colors. I hope this helps and thank you for contacting Decorating Country Home
