Shabby Chic Kitchen Tables are easily found at antique stores, thrift stores and estate sales. If it's old and weathered, it will work, if it isn't quite old enough, paint it and sand it to give it the weathered look. Add mismatched chairs or benches.
To easily add visual interest, decorate the table with a solid colors, pretty florals, or stripes. Look for fabrics that are of good quality, but look worn with age. Look for soft pastel colors, like pale aqua, pale green, sunny yellow, pale yellow, pink, light blue, teal, ivory, antique white and grassy green fabrics. Roses and floral chintz, paisley and stripes are patterns that are always welcome on the kitchen table.
Plates and dishes are beautiful in floral designs, such as pansy chintz, vintage roses or cherry blossoms, solid color ceramics, with decorative edging. Have fun by mixing and matching flea market finds with your tableware.
