Fruit Salad

Fruit salad you can serve for any occasion. Perfect way to end a meal.

Cranberry Salad

  • 1 8 1/4 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 1 16 oz can whole cranberry sauce
  • 1 11 oz can mandarin orange, drained
  • 1 6 oz pkg raspberry gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1 envelope dream whip

Drain pineapple, reserve syrup. Add enough boiling water to syrup to make 1 cup. Dissolve gelatin in hot liquid. Stir in cranberry sauce and orange peel.

Chill and partially set. Fold in orange sections and pineapple. Prepare dream whip according to instructions. Fold into fruit mixture. Chill til set.

Strawberry Fruit Salad Frozen Strawberry Salad

  • 1 can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 9 oz carton cool whip
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple undrained
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
Mix all above ingredients together. Pour into spring form pan or mold. Freeze and slice. Serves 15

Congealed Apricot Salad

  • 2 (3 oz.) boxes apricot Jello2/3 (9 oz.) container Cool Whip
  • 1 can apricot halves
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water

Drain juice from pineapple and apricots. Add juice to Jello after Jello has been dissolved in hot water. Allow to thicken. Add fruits, and fold in Cool Whip. Chill.

Congealed Salad Congealed Salad

  • 1 pkg. orange or lemon Jello
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 1 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1 c. cranberry sauce
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/2 c. whipped cream

Mix Jello with hot water. Add cream cheese, blending well. Add pineapple, cranberry sauce and whipping cream, mixing well after each addition. Pour into Pyrex dish and refrigerate.

Fruit Salad

  • 2 10 oz. pkgs. frozen strawberries, sliced
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can peach pie filling
  • 4 sliced bananas

Mix all ingredients together and chill before serving.

Four Cup Salad

  • 1 c. mandarin orange slices
  • 1 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 1 c. pineapple chunks
  • 1 c. sour cream

Drain pineapple and orange slices. Add marshmallows and sour cream. Let set in refrigerator until chilled. Serve on lettuce leaves.

Pineapple Jello Salad

  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 1 box Dream Whip
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange Jello
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 large pkg. miniature marshmallows

Drain juice from pineapple. Mix 1 cup water with juice and bring to boil. Add Jello and dissolve. Pour mixture over pineapple. Add marshmallows. Set until firm. Pour whipped cream on top and add grated cheese. Refrigerate.

Purple Salad

  • 1 large (8 oz.) ctn. Cool Whip
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple, drained (do not use juice)

Mix ingredients in order listed. Chill.

Strawberrry - Sour Cream Salad

  • 2 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jello
  • 3 mashed bananas
  • 1 large pkg. frozen strawberries
  • 1 large ctn. sour cream
  • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 c. pecans, chopped

Dissolve Jello in 2 cups boiling water. Thaw strawberries, add to Jello. Add pineapple, juice, mashed bananas. Pour Jello mixture in pan and place in refrigerator to set. Spread sour cream over set Jello mixture on top. Return to refrigerator to set. Serve with whipped cream.

Seven-Up Salad Seven-Up Salad

  • 2 boxes lemon Jello
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 can fruit cocktail
  • 2 c. 7-Up

Dissolve Jello in hot water and add 7-Up. When cool, add fruit and let set.

Topping:

  • 1 c. pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg

Cook until thick. Cool and add 1 package Dream Whip. Spread on top of Jello. Chill and serve.

Lime Congealed Salad

  • 1 pkg. lime Jello
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, well drained (save juice)
  • 1 t. lemon juice
  • 1 c. pet milk
  • 1 c. small curd cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Measure juice from pineapple and add water to make one cup. Heat and pour over Jello to dissolve. Mix cheese, mayonnaise, milk, pineapple, nuts and lemon juice. Pour hot mixture over cheese mixture and combine. Pour in ring mold or in pan.

Hot and Cold Salad

  • 1 can mandarin oranges
  • 1 can grapefruit sections
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp red pepper
  • 1 can pineapple chunks
  • 1 carton sour cream
  • 1 tsp. celery seeds

Drain canned fruits well. Add the sliced bananas and sour cream. Add the celery seeds and as much red pepper as you are comfortable with. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Hint- the longer it sits the more the pepper flavor is released.

Orange Salad

  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can mandarin oranges
  • 1 ctn. small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 lg box orange Jello

Drain fruit. Mix cottage cheese and cool whip together. Fold in orange slices and pineapple. Mix dry Jello with other ingredients. Let stand in refrigerator 1 hour. Nuts and coconut can be added.
