Ground Beef Recipes

Recipes for using ground beef are endless. Below you will find ground beef recipes for one dish meals such as spaghetti, lasagna, tamales, casseroles and chili to name a few.

Here's some of my favorite ground beef recipes. Meatloaf, Beef noodle Casserole, Tamale Pie, Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce, Enchilada Pie...etc.

My kids love beef cooked just about any way. Now I just have to find creative ways to serve vegetables that they'll eat with their meal.

Lasagna

This Lasagna recipe is super easy to make and it's very good served with a simple green salad and garlic sticks. It will become one of your families favorite meals.

  • 2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Ib. ground beef
  • 1 c. shredded Colby cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 (16-oz.) pkg. wide noodles
  • 1 (16-oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 (26-oz.) ctn. spaghetti sauce mix
  • Parmesan cheese to taste

Grease casserole pan and set aside. Heat oven to 350*. Brown ground beef. Add salt, pepper, diced tomatoes and spaghetti meat sauce mix. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.

Mix cheeses together. Spoon meat sauce into the bottom of pan. Layer noodle on sauce, overlap if necessary. Pour 1/2 meat sauce on noodle; top with cheese.

Repeat. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 30 minutes.

Tamale Pie

This casserole is jazzed up with black olives, corn, onions and garlic. Very simple recipe for a great tamale pie.

  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 1 med onion chopped
  • 1 med onion chopped
  • 1 #2 can whole kernel corn
  • 1 heaping cup yellow corn meal
  • 1 tsp. crushed garlic
  • 1 tsp chili powder, or to taste
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2 cans tomato sauce

To the 3 cups boiling water, add 1 heaping cup yellow corn meal, 1 cup cold water, and 1 tsp. crushed garlic and bring it to a boil.

Brown ground beef, chopped onion, corn, olives, chili powder, tomato sauce and add salt and pepper to taste.

Next add the corn meal mixture allow this to cook on low for about 15 minutes. Pour into casserole dish and top with shredded cheese and bake at 400 for about 20 minutes.

Let cool 10-15 mins. before serving.

Enchilada Pie

Enchilada Pie is great served with a spinach salad and homemade buttery rolls.

  • 1 Ib. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 c. tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 pkg. flour tortillas

Brown meat, drain, stir in tomato paste, water, onions and other seasonings. Simmer 10 minutes. Place tortillas (torn in pieces) in 8x12 inch baking dish. Cover with sauce and layer of cheese.

Repeat until all ingredients are used. Cover with foil. Bake at 375* for 25 minutes. May be made ahead and covered overnight in refrigerator. If refrigerated, bake at 375* for 50 minutes.

Meatloaf

Try this classic meatloaf recipe, it is jazzed up with just a hint of worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Great served with green beans, mashed potatoes and cornbread. A true southern meal.

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. tomato ketchup

In a large bowl, combine ingredients thoroughly; form into a loaf (8x4 inches) in shallow baking pan.

Bake in a 350* oven for 45 minutes. Spread top with tomato ketchup; bake 15 minutes longer. Let meat loaf stand 5 minutes before slicing. Makes 6 servings.

Baked Ziti

Baked Ziti makes a great welcome to the neighborhood gift. Everyone loves the time you take to make them a homemade gift, especially when it's food.

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 pkg. pepperoni, chopped
  • 1 can prepared spaghetti sauce
  • 1 pkg. rotini noodles
  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and Pepper

Crumble and brown the ground beef with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, onions and mushrooms (if used).

While cooking the beef prepare rotini noodles according to package directions.

Drain beef and put in a 9x13-inch pan. Add pepperoni and spaghetti sauce. Drain noodles and add to casserole dish; mix. Add cheeses; mix. Level the mixture in the pan.

Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.

Delicious Hamburger Steak

Hamburger Steak is a southern favorite. Topped with bell pepper and onions and served with peas and potatoes, nothing says country food better than this meal

  • 2 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. each diced bell pepper and onion
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 T. pepper and seasoning salt
  • 1 1/2 T. flour

Mix ingredients together. Shape hamburger mixture into steaks and place in ovenproof casserole dish.

Pour one can mushroom soup over steaks and place in a 350* oven.

Cook about 45 minutes or until done. Great served smothered onions and peppers.

Salisbury Steak

This is a great recipe for salisbury steak. It's quick and easy and flavored just right with sauteed onions. Try this recipe out on your family. They will love it.

  • 2 cups ground beef
  • 1 small onion, minced and sauteed
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper to taste

Mix ingredients well, mixing a small amount at a time. Form mixture into oblong steaks and fry until juices are no longer pink. Serve with your favorite mushroom sauce/gravy.

Homemade Chili

  • 1 - 2 Ibs. ground beef
  • 2 (6-02.) cans Ro-Tel tomatoes
  • 3 cans chili with beans
  • 2 pkgs. chili seasoning
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 2 cans pinto beans

Cook ground beef until done. Drain. Then add pinto beans, then add chili with beans, then tomatoes; add Ro-Tel tomatoes; add chili seasoning.

Simmer 10 minutes. Top with grated cheese then eat. You can also add rice to your bowl of chili, just a little though. Delicious on a cold rainy night

Beef Noodle Casserole

Beef noodle casserole will fill up a hungry family. Serve it with green beans, corn on the cob, squash and hot buttery rolls. Your family will love it.

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbsp. pure vegetable oil
  • 4 oz. med. noodles, uncooked
  • 2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 10-oz. can condensed beef bouillon
  • 1 3-oz. can broiled mushrooms and liquor

Saute beef, onion, green pepper and garlic in oil in skillet until meat is browned. Pour off excess fat.

Add noodles and combine well. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

Beef Stroganoff

Beef Stroganoff is so good and creamy with the sour cream, cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soups

  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 c. sliced mushrooms
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. cream of chicken soup
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. salt

Saute onions in butter. Add beef, stirring until light brown.

Add flour, salt, pepper, mushrooms and soups and cook 5 minutes.

Add sour cream. Simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with hot buttery rolls.
