Decorating a Girls Bedroom

bedroom Your little girls bedroom...Every little girl loves to spend time in their bedroom. It's her own little space. A place where your little girl can not only sleep, but dream.

What better way to help your child's dreams come true than by surrounding them with their favorite things! Decorating a girls bedroom can be both a fun and rewarding experience for both of you.

Here are five simple tips to get you started in the right direction:

Listen

The most important factor is to hear your child's ideas; after all it is "her" room you are decorating! Have her sit down and make a list of her favorite things from toys to television programs. Would she enjoy a themed bedroom?

Recycle

Make use of what is already in place. You will be surprised at how you can turn items that are already in her bedroom into something new! If her dresser has an attached mirror, remove it from the dresser base and place a new mirror directly to the wall. Purchase new dresser knobs and or pulls. Painting bedroom doors a contrasting color. Purchase a duvet cover with a pattern on both sides for a quick update.

Think Ahead

Keep in mind that your child's likes and dislikes will change. Explore less permanent options such as framed art, accent rugs and wall stick ups.

Simple Impact

You can make a dramatic change by just adding splashes of color and texture. Add throws and accent pillows to bedding. Hang art and throws from the wall. Update window treatments. Add accent rugs for quick impact.

Have Fun

Enjoy spending this time decorating your little girls room. Explore each other's creative side by creating bulletin boards, artwork, and other decor crafts together. Throw a bedroom-makeover party. They can each create a craft for the bedroom
