Fruit salad is a form of art that requires just the right balance of texture, color, smell and taste..

Juicy red sweet apples, a bunch of seedless grapes, raspberries, pears, cherries, pineapple and strawberries are just a few delicious fruits that are great for making fruit salads.

The following salads are congealed, jello and fruit cups. Hope you will try one today.

Fruit Salad

Fruit salads are a delicious way to end a perfect meal or just to enjoy on their own.

  • 1 golden delicious apple, quartered
  • 1 orange, peeled and sectioned
  • 1 pear, quartered
  • 1/2 red or pink grapefruit, peeled and sectioned
  • 1/4 cup red seedless grapes
  • 1/4 cup green seedless grapes
  • Champagne, enough to cover individual servings
  • 1 tbs honey (optional)

Wash all fruit, remove peels, seeds, cores.

Cut citrus into sections. Cut all fruits into bite-sized pieces.

Put all fruits in a small bowl and gently toss with honey

Allow 30 minutes to chill in refrigerator.

Spoon into decorative serving bowls or champagne glasses, filling only half the glass or bowl.

Finish filling with chilled champagne. Garnish edges of bowls or glasses with lemon or orange wedges.

Frozen Strawberry Salad

Frozen Strawberry salads are a delicious way to end a perfect meal or just to enjoy on their own.

  • 1 can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 9 oz carton cool whip
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk

Mix all above ingredients together.

Pour into spring form pan or mold. Freeze and slice. Serves 15

Cranberry Salad

This Cranberry Fruit Salad is a delicious way to end a perfect meal or just to enjoy on it's own.

  • 1 8 1/4 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 1 16 oz can whole cranberry sauce
  • 1 11 oz can mandarin orange, drained
  • 1 6 oz pkg. raspberry gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 1 envelope dream whip

Drain pineapple, reserve syrup. Add enough boiling water to syrup to make 1 cup.

Dissolve gelatin in hot liquid. Stir in cranberry sauce and orange peel.

Chill and partially set.

Fold in orange sections and pineapple.

Prepare dream whip according to instructions.

Fold into fruit mixture. Chill until set.

Pineapple Jello Salad

Pineapple Fruit Salad is so simple to make, it's yummy and it's a delicious way to end a perfect meal or just to enjoy on it's own.

  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 1 box Dream Whip
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange Jello
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 large pkg. miniature marshmallows

Drain juice from pineapple.

Mix 1 cup water with juice and bring to boil. Add Jello and dissolve.

Pour mixture over pineapple. Add marshmallows. Set until firm.

Pour whipped cream on top and add grated cheese.

Refrigerate

Cherry Fruit Salad

Fruit salads are a delicious way to end a perfect meal or just to enjoy on their own.

  • 1 large (8 oz.) ctn. Cool Whip
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (No. 2) can crushed pineapple, drained (do not use juice)

Mix ingredients in order listed.

Refrigerate to chill.

Congealed Apricot Salad

Congealed Salads are great to serve at church socials, family reunions or anytime you like.

  • 2 (3 oz.) boxes apricot Jello
  • 2/3 (9 oz.) container Cool Whip
  • 1 can apricot halves
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water

Drain juice from pineapple and apricots.

Add juice to Jello after Jello has been dissolved in hot water. Allow to thicken.

Add fruits, and fold in Cool Whip.

Refrigerate to chille

Seven Up Salad

A favorite served at my family reunions.

  • 2 boxes lemon Jello
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1 can fruit cocktail
  • 2 c. 7-Up
  • 1 c. pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg

Dissolve Jello in hot water and add 7-Up. When cool, add fruit and let set.

Topping

  • 1 c. pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg

Cook until thick. Cool and add 1 package Dream Whip on top of Jello mold. Chill and serve.

Lime Congealed Salad

Fruit salads are a delicious way to end a perfect meal or just to enjoy on their own.

  • 1 pkg. lime Jello
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, well drained (save juice)
  • 1 t. lemon juice
  • 1 c. pet milk
  • 1 c. small curd cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Measure juice from pineapple and add water to make one cup.

Heat and pour over Jello to dissolve.

Mix cheese, mayonnaise, milk, pineapple, nuts and lemon juice.

Pour hot mixture over cheese mixture and combine. Pour in ring mold or in pan.

Refrigerate

Orange Salad

This salad is great served at dinner parties, office parties and church functions.

  • 1 can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can mandarin oranges
  • 1 ctn. small curd cottage cheese
  • 1 lg box orange Jello

Drain fruit

Mix cottage cheese and cool whip together. Fold in orange slices and pineapple.

Mix dry Jello with other ingredients.

Let stand in refrigerator 1 hour.
