Dynamite Dip Recipes

A party just isn't a party without the dip, served up with crackers, chips and vegetable sticks. Below you will find some of my all time favorite dip recipes to serve for your next special occasion.

rotel cheese dip Ro-Tel Cheese

The anytime favorite!

  • 1 can Ro-Tel tomatoes
  • 1 large pkg. Velveeta cheese spread
Melt cheese and tomatoes in double boiler. Serve with chips and crackers. An added touch would be to have some chunks of French bread.

Chili Cheese Dip

Another any time favorite!

  • 1 lb. Velveeta cheese
  • 1 lb. browned hamburger, (drained)
  • 1 regular size can chili with or without beans
  • 1 (12 to 15 oz.) jar Picante sauce
Mix in crock pot until cheese melts and it can be well blended. Serve hot with nacho chips. Can be doubled.

avocado salsa Avocado Salsa

  • 1 ripe avocado, coarsely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced jalapeno
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon finely diced red onion
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl and season to taste

Home Made Salsa

Great for a super bowl party!

  • 1 can mexican tomatoes
  • 1 can rotel tomatoes
  • 1 can garlic-onion flavored tomatoes
  • chopped onion to taste
  • chopped bell pepper to taste
  • cilantro to taste
  • lemon juice to taste
  • garlic clove or garlic salt to taste
  • chopped hot peppers of your choice to taste

Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate

Artichoke Dip

  • 1 15 oz Progresso seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 C. Olive oil
  • 2 C. grated Ramano Cheese
  • 4 14 oz cans Artichoke Heart
  • Juice of 4 Lemons
  • 4 pods garlic, pureed
  • Red Pepper to taste
Combine crumbs, water from artichokes, lemon juice and olive oil. Put artichokes in blender and blend on high speed until well blended. Add artichoke hearts to above mixture. Add cheese, garlic and red pepper.

Put in buttered 4 quart casserole and bake at 350 for 20-30 minutes until warm. This may be spooned into Chafing Dish and served with Melba Rounds.

crab dip Crab Dip

  • 1 lb. imitation crab meat
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1/4 c. Hot Sauce
  • 2 celery stalks
  • Salt and pepper

In medium bowl, shred crab meat. Dice celery stalks (fine) and add to crab meat. Mix these ingredients well.

Place cream cheese in small bowl and microwave for 15-20 seconds to soften. When soft, stir with spoon to eliminate any lumps.

Add cream cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper to crab meat mixture.

Mix thoroughly with spoon until all ingredients are well blended. Cover and let sit in refrigerator over night.

Serve with your favorite crackers.

Hot Crab Dip

This crab dip is excellent with a Bloody Mary or Screwdriver or a tart non-alcoholic punch!

  • 2 (7-ounce) cans crabmeat, thawed
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 1/2 cup homemade mayonanise or 1/2 cup commercial mayonnaise made with lemon juice
  • Crackers or melba rounds

Place crabmeat in a colander and rinse with ice water; drain thorougly. Check crabmeat for particles of shell or cartilage.

Combine all ingredients except sherry in top of a double boiler and heat over rapidly boiling water. Add sherry and transfer mixture to heated chafing dish.

Serve with crackers or melba rounds. Makes about 4 cups-48 servings. The dip will serve 25 to 30 guests

Bean Dip

Great for a super bowl party!

  • 1 can condensed black bean soup
  • 1 can condensed bean and bacon Soup
  • 1 tbs. vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. red pepper
  • 8 oz. sour cream

Combine all ingredients (except sour cream) in a saucepan. Heat, stirring constantly. Add sour cream and simmer an additional 10 minutes. Serve hot with favorite chips.

cucumber dip Cucumber Dip

Great for a baby shower

  • 1(8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1/2 small onion
  • 2 Tbsp. mayonaise
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt

Chop cucumber and onion very fine. Add soft cream cheese, mayonaise and garlic. Mix well and chill.

Spinach Dip or Spread

  • 1 box chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 1(8oz.) carton sour cream
  • 1 c. mayonaise
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 pkg. dry vegetable soup mix

Mix and chill several hours or overnight. Serve on rye bread or crackers or hull out center of Hawaiian bread. Serve dip in center and use part of bread removed to dip.

mississippi cavier Mississippi Caviar

A Southern favorite!

  • 1 can black-eyed peas, drained
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup salad oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped finely
  • Tabasco sauce or chopped red or green hot pepper to taste
Mix and marinate at least 8 hrs. Serve with snack crackers.

Hot Turnip Green Dip

Another Southern favorite!

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 3-oz can mushrooms, drained
  • 1 10-oz package frozen chopped turnip greens
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 6-oz roll garlic cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • hot pepper sauce (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Sauté onion and celery in butter until tender. Stir in mushrooms and set aside. Cook turnip greens according to package directions and drain well.

Combine turnip greens with the lemon rind in the bowl of a food processor and process until smooth.

In the top of a double boiler, add all of the sautéed vegetables, pureed turnip greens, soup, cheese Worcestershire and hot pepper sauce, stirring until mixture is well blended and heated. Serve hot with corn chips.
