Comforters..Warm & Cozy Bedding
Comforters For Cold Winter Nights
When you are looking for warm bedding look no further than down blankets, bedding pillow and comforters.
My personal favorite is a Goose Down Comforter. Down bed comforters are very warm and light weight.
In fact, you can hardly tell that you have anything on. The different types of "down" are goose down
and a combination of feathers and down. The down fill power tells you the density or ounces of the down.
This will give you a good idea of the warmth.
Down comforters are most sought after because of their warmth and softness, and are truly more
comfortable to sleep under and are more suitable to different temperatures than one with a synthetic filling.
Down breathes which means it controls warmth and wicks away moisture (such as perspiration)so you wont wake
up feeling clammy.
Another fill option can be silk, inside and out. Silk transfers heat well, is very warm, light weight material
comparable to goose down comforters.
Down pillows can add support to your head whether you're reading in bed or just want some height
under your head while sleeping. A down pillow has the ability to adjust to the user which will
make a huge impression on the quality of your rest.
If you sleep with an incorrect pillow it can cause your neck muscles to strain during sleep,
causing you to wake with a headache.
Thread Count or Quality
There are many misconceptions about thread count. Many consumers are misguided in thinking
"the higher thread count, the higher the quality will be". Not so fast!
Actually, to keep cost down associated with high thread counts, manufactures will sacrifice material quality to offset the difference.
Most people can't tell the difference between 300 and 1000 thread count.
Before investing your money into a high thread count comforter, do a little research on the actual construction,
such as, the finishing, yarn size and the quality of fiber used.
Down bedding is manufactured in many qualities and prices vary.
Down comforters also come in an array of colors, but white is the most popular.
Actually, comforters come in many styles and patterns.
For country decor comforters choose earthtone colors...autumn colors of browns or tobacco, red brick,
light yellows or beige.
For the more adventuresome type, choose a camoflage comforter, deer, dogs, ducks, elk or moose comforters
in colors of forest green, tan, brown or other earthtones.
